Nambul reaches flood level

Imphal, April 01 2017:
Due to incessant rainfall in the last two/three days, Nambul River is now flowing at flood level.
According to information received from IFCD's flood control room, water level of Nambul River has reached 782.15 m which is within the range of flood level.
Meanwhile, water levels of Lilong, Iril and Thoubal rivers are also rising.
Volumes of rainfall recorded at different places during the past 24 hours were Raj Bhavan 24 mm, Saikul 21 mm, Kangpokpi 16 mm and Lamphelpat 27 mm.
Sources in ICAR Lamphelpat informed that the average rainfall received by the State during the past 24 hours was 65 mm.
With rainfall rate of 101 mm, March 30 this year recorded the highest volume of rainfall witnessed in the month of March in the State during the past 63 years.
On the other hand, around 1599 households of Lamphel sub-division have been enduring the misery of flood even as the State Government has provided some relief materials like rice and paddy to people taking refuge in relief camps.
