Ukhrul, February 29 2016:
NPF MLAs who have submitted their resignation papers to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly following the passing of the three Bills last year have categorically stated that they will forgo all the benefits extended by the State Government even though their resignations are yet to be accepted.
NPF MLAs Samuel Risom and L Dikho who attended a one day political conference at Ukhrul, stated that even though the Speaker has declined to accept their resignation, they will no longer accept Government benefits and added that they will also give up security escorts and the quarters would be vacated.
Though some Congress MLAs have accused us of receiving Government benefits it is our right to receive them because the Speaker is yet to accept the resignation letters, they contended.
However now all the 4 NPF MLAs will refuse all the benefits, they maintained.
According to them, their resignation will strengthen the NPF in the State and expressed confidence of the party doing much better in the 2017 Assembly election.
MLA Samuel Risom said their resignation has nullified all the State Assembly decisions related to the Naga issue and added their absence in the Assembly will be more powerful.
He confidently said that a BJP led NPF Government will come to power after the 2017 polls.

He further expressed that within a sport span of 8 years, NPF has produced 56 ADC members and is now in power in the ADCs of Ukhrul, Tamenglong and Senapati which is a commendable progress.
Awangbow Newmai further said that NPF will continue to defend the political rights of the tribal people.
