One Myanmarese arrested with suspected drugs

Churachandpur, April 29 2022:
A combined team of Singhat police station and 46 Assam Rifles has apprehended a Myanmarese national identified as Enlianmang Vaiphei (34), son of Engkhanthang Vaiphei of Valvet, Myanmar with 43 soap cases, suspected to contain heroin, packed in a carton box around 4 pm Thursday.
According to a report, the combined team on frisking and checking duty at Su-angdai village near the In do-Myanmar border stopped a person for verification and found the individual carrying a carton box containing 43 soap cases.
On initial interrogation, the accused revealed that he was carrying drugs and is a citizen of Myanmar.
Since there were no independent witnesses present, the person and the carton box was brought to Singhat police station where the soap cases, suspected to contain heroin, was sealed before independent witnesses.
Singhat police took the individual in its custody arrest and registered a case under NDPS Act and Section 14 of Foreigners' Act tor further investigation.
