Workshop on narrative art concludes

Imphal, June 16 2022:
A seven-day workshop cum production of 'Wari Faibok' jointly organised by All Manipur Wari Leeba Association and Research Centre (AMWALRC), Khurai Soibam Leikai and Harikhagok Makhong Development Committee under the sponsorship of ministry of culture concluded at Shri Shri Gopinath Mandir, Leihao Makhong Mandop on Thursday.
Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy director P Bilash, AMWLARC president Ch Kondumba and Progressive Artistes' Laboratory (PAL) director N Tiken attended the closing ceremony as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, project director of the workshop cum production W Chinglen emphasised on the need for promoting one of the rare art forms of the state, which is gradually dying.
He also informed that seven narrative artistes performed in the seven-day programme, which was organised with daily lecture by different instructors and renowned artistes.
A joint narration of a chapter of Adi Parva of Mahabharata was presented by W Chinglen and P Ranibala during the closing ceremony.
