Over Rs 2 crore collected from SOP violators

So far, police have collected a total sum of Rs 2,04,42,560 as fine from people who violated the safety protocols laid down for containing Covid-19 pandemic since last year.
In a release, Manipur Police Covid-19 nodal officer IGP (ops) E Priyokumar Singh informed that the state police continued to detain and fine SOP violators.
On Saturday, 208 violators were detained and collected Rs 69,650 as fine from them.
The state police detained 1,40,436 SOP violators and collected a total fine of Rs 2,04,42,560 ever since the government issued restrictive order from year 2020 .
The highest number of 25,492 people was detained in Imphal West district and extracted Rs 43,80,050 as fine from them.
In Imphal East 5,039 violators were detained and fined Rs 13,23,710; Thoubal saw 65,357 detention and collection of Rs 60,15,270; Kakching 5,237 detention and fine of Rs 19,59,850; Chandel 1030 detention and fine of Rs 1,36,800; Tengnoupal district 553 detention and fine of Rs 85,130; Bishnupur district 21,840 detention and fine of Rs 36,61,790, and Churachandpur district 8,749 detention and fine of Rs 16,98,100 .
In Ukhrul district 1,903 violators were detained and fined Rs 1,29,500; in Kamjong district 108 violators were detained and fined Rs 20,860 fine; Senapati district 1,068 violators were detained and fined Rs 1,67,500; in Kangpokpi district 887 violators were detained and fined Rs 1,26,600; in Tamenglong district 860 violators were detained and fined Rs 2,40,400; in Noney district 233 violators were detained and fined Rs 51,150 and in Jiribam district 2,080 violators were detained and fined Rs 4,45,850 .
