Rotary Club organises installation ceremony

Rotary Club of Imphal organised its 50th installation ceremony for rotary year 2022-23 at Rotary Bhavan, Mantripukhri on Sunday.
During programme, Pramod Jaiswal and Dr Chourjit Maibam were respectively sworn in as president and secretary of Rotary Club of Imphal for the year 2022-23 along with new board of directors.
Speaking as chief guest of the event, Wangkhei MLA Th Arunkumar Singh lauded Rotary Club of Imphal for taking up various community-based service projects to benefit the community and appealed to members of the Club to continue their service to the community.
Rotary Club of Imphal Zone XII assistant governor Ellendra Thoudam urged members of the club to 'Imagine Rotary' and continue to follow the Rotary ideal of Service Above Self and to go the extra mile in building the club, and carrying out various yeoman service projects benefiting thousands of needy people of the state and outside the country.
During the programme, Akham Ibochouba Memorial Award for 'Rotary Civil Constable of the Year' was handed over to constable Lanchungam Kamson attached to SP, Imphal West district; M Ibobi Memorial Award for 'Rotary Traffic Personnel of the Year' to Traffic Police, Thoubal district Ningombam Lokendro Singh; Th Ibomcha Singh Memorial Award 'Rotary Nurse of the Year' to PHC, Leimapokam, Bishnupur district nurse Okram Kamala Devi; Shripal Chand Jain Memorial Award for 'Rotary Fireman of the Year' to N Joychandra Singh of Thoubal district; Shri Jhoomarmal Kashliwal Memorial Award for 'Rotary Media-person of the Year' to Nimolchand Ningombam of Naharolgi Thoudang; Rotarian Bijay Jain Memorial Award for 'Rotary Sports person of the Year' to Sorokhaibam Bindyarani Devi (Weightlifting); Sinam Tomchou Singh Memorial Distribution of Hearing Aids to five needy persons; Sagolsem Juge Memorial Rotary Scholarship to four blind students of Ideal Blind School, Takyelpat; Oja Sagolsem Indramani Memorial Scholarship to two best students of Children's Home, Dewlahland; Shri Om Prakash Gulati Memorial Wheelchair was given to Kh Ingocha Singh of Khurai Thoudam Leikai; and Rotarian Om Prakash Agarwal scholarship to Sunita Nepram.
Later, two new members were also inducted to the club.
