Kangpokpi, June 02 2021:
Joining the fight against Covid pandemic, InSIDE-North East on Wednesday extended support to the frontline workers such as medical team (PHC, CHC), Asha workers and Village Covid Task Force by providing PPE kits to them and handing over Covid awareness posters for use in Saikul area.
Hejang Misao, director of InSIDE-North East, said that apart from equipping the frontline workers with PPE kits and providing posters for awareness, his organisation is planning to donate oxygen concentrator, ventilators and cylinders to healthcare centres and oximeter and thermometer each to Village Covid Task Force.
It may be mentioned that the organisation had last year helped more than 6000 state natives returning from Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi by providing dry food, hygienic items and safety items.
They also helped 90 Manipuri people from Shillong return safely back to the state by hiring three buses and distributed dry rations to more than 1000 households.
He further said that one of the objectives is to stop the spread of the virus to rural areas by working closely with the health department and CSOs, and requested all to fight collectively against pandemic.
