NHIDCL donates water purifier, conducts medical camp

As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, Project Monitoring Unit, Senapati of NHIDCL under the guidance of executive director DS Chaudhury (RO Imphal) on Thursday donated an Aquaguard Reviva 50 RO water purifier and conducted a medical camp at Maram High School, Tumuyong Khullen village.
The event was inaugurated by Kangpokpi district deputy commissioner Kengoo Zuringla.
Addressing the gathering, NHIDCL general manager Shankar Bhowmik elaborated on CSR programme of NHIDCL centred on encouraging hygiene and safe drinking water to underprivileged section of the society.
DC Zuringla expressed gratitude to NHIDCL for its CSR activities apart from constructing roads in the region and also encouraged the students to drink water from the water purifier and live a healthy life, adding that they no longer need to bring boiled water from their homes.
While Maram High School headmaster Ngouning Nguipa delivered the welcome address, T/Khullen village secretary RK Lovingsong thanked the NHIDCL for its CSR activities and urged the corporation to carry out other CSR programmes to further improve hygiene in school.
Later, a medical booth camp for the school children was conducted during which sanitary napkins were handed over to the school.
