Imphal, October 16 2022:
The Joint Non-Govemment Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO) had urged the chief minister for proper documentation of Kakching district revenue boundary, enactment of land laws and opening of District Transport office at Kakching.
In a memorandum addressed to the chief minister, JNGVO president Ksh Chhatradhari Singh said that addressing the aforementioned issues is imperative for actual progress of the new district.
He also encouraged different communities to settle inside the Revenue Jurisdiction of Kakching district stating that co-existence and communal harmony would facilitate growth and development of all the indigenous communities of the state.
JNGVO, however, cautioned that it wouldn't tolerate overlapping of neighbouring districts' boundaries into Kakching district and also raised objection against the ongoing delimitation process in connection with the upcoming ADC election in areas under the revenue jurisdiction of Kakching district.
On the issue of District Transport office, it said; "We have been demanding the opening of the district transport office at Kakching for a very long time as increase in number of vehicles naturally necessitates having an office in the district".
The memorandum was also forwarded to MLAs of Kakching, Wabagai and Hiyanglam ACs.
