Six student bodies meet M Harekrishna

Imphal, June 10 2021:
Six student bodies including AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SUK and AIMS met Higher and Technical Education, Education (S) and SCERT commissioner Mangsatabam Harekhrishna at his office at Babupara and discussed several issues regarding development of the education sector on Thursday.
A joint release issued by the student bodies informed that during the meeting they demanded the commissioner to issue an order making it clear whether there would be cancellation or conduct of class 10 and 12 exam in the state so as to redress the confusion and anxiety of the students.
They also demanded setting up of in service (Higher education & school education) teaching training centre and urged for increasing the number of trainee seats in Manipur BEd College DMCTE.
Moreover, the student bodies urged for focusing more on pre-service, the release added.
The student bodies also urged for an academic calendar for school education and take initiative for maintaining the academic calendar.
They also demanded framing an alternative curriculum to be followed during unforeseen event like pandemic or disaster and also to reform exam so that teaching learning process and examination could be done even during pandemic or war times.
