Imphal, January 25 2022:
Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) will celebrate the birth anniversary of Haipei Rani Gaidinliu on January 26 .
In a release, ZUF chairman Jenchui Kamei stated that 107 have gone since the birth of freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu.
Pointing out that many luminary leaders and figures have left marks of struggle for freedom of the people and gone unrewarded, he said the land remained as dark region of the world but notwithstanding the pain, loss and disappointment experienced by the people, the dawn of freedom will break upon the people and the birth of the freedom fighter will even be remembered with greater homage and reverence.
Quite many significant awards and substantial grants in terms of materials have been made in her name.
However, not a tint of hope and aspiration of her people to live in freedom has been fulfilled or granted, the release maintained, while adding that the struggle and the movement remain with the people to this day and will remain in the hearts of the people.
While considering the historical birth of India's Independence and subsequent declaration of Republic Union of India on January 26 of 1950, the birth of Rani Gaidinliu on January 26 may be coincidently taken or assumed as a mythical herald of hope and assurance of India's victory and freedom to become a sovereign nation of the world, chairman Jenchui Kamei said, while continuing that it was not the birth that makes the history sweet but the struggle, sufferings and contribution that has made her birth and life honorable.
Her story and name are known to all, yet her painful account of struggle has not been perceived as deserved.
"May this occasion remind Zeliangrong and kindred tribes to exemplify and reflect the spirit of true patriotism and valiant hearts as demonstrated by Haipei Rani Gaidinliu", the chairman wished.
