BJP chief Nadda joins condolence meet for Prof Tikendra

Mourning the demise of BJP Manipur Pradesh president professor S Tikendra Singh, who succumbed to COVID-19 on May 13, a condolence meet was held at the chief minister's secretariat complex here on Saturday.
The condolence meet was also attended by BJP national president JP Nadda, national general secretary in-charge for North East Ajay Jamwal and national spokesperson Sambit Patra from New Delhi, via the virtual mode.
Delivering a brief speech on the occasion, JP Nadda said that Tikendra was a transparent, sincere, an organiser, thinker and outspoken leader.
He was a true leader, who took keen interest in teaching others and used to encourage others to face the challenges the society is facing.
After his voluntary retirement as a professor, Tikendra joined the party and served in various ranks.
Terming his demise as a great loss for the party, the party president shared the grief and pain of the bereaved family.
The condolence meet was also attended by MPs Dr RK Ranjan and Leishemba Sanajaoba, ministers and MLAs who paid floral tributes to portrait of the late BJP state chief.
In his address, CM N Biren Singh said that Prof Tikendra's demise is not only a loss for BJP but also for Manipur and maintained that contributions made by the late leader for the party and the people will be remembered forever.
Manipur State Shumang Leela Council, BJP Chandel District, Manipur Democratic Alliance, United Front Manipur and BJP Yaiskul Mandal also condoled the demise of professor Tikendra.
Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam, BJP Manipur Pradesh Department of Election Management and BJP Keishamthong Mandal also mourned the untimely demise of Prof S Tikendra Singh on May 13.In his condolence message, MLA Karam Shyam shared the grief of the bereaved family and the party and prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed soul.
BJP Manipur Pradesh Department of Election Management convener Thuigai Mathiu Rongmei shared the sorrow and grief of the bereaved family and prayed for strength and comfort in this hour of bereavement.
In a release, BJP Keishamthong Mandal Wareppa Naba stated that a condolence meeting was held by the Mandal during which a two-minute silence was observed in memory of the departed leader, while also praying that may his soul rest in peace in its heavenly abode.
