MLA Letzamang scans Henglep road projects

Henglep MLA Letzamang Haokip on Monday inspected the work being carried out for improvement/upgrade of Henglep- Thingkew -Tipaimukh Road.
The inspection team led by the MLA and his officials included Henglep Area Chiefs' Association, KSO Henglep Block, Zillai Churachandpur District, Zillai Chongkhozou Block.
The foundation stone for improvement of the said Road was laid by chief minister N Biren on September 28, 2022 .
According to the Henglep MLA, work progress so far is 7km from zero point S Kholian village to Mualdak village.
The project with a total length of 31.782 km is taken up by NEC, Division No-II, PWD Manipur under the NERSDS scheme of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) .
The mode of contract is Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) with Bharatia Infra Project Ltd (BIPL), Imphal Branch being the EPC contractor.
The salient features include flexible pavement consisting of Bituminous Layer (BC) over cement treated base (CTB layer) with a carriageway width (Intermediate Lane Carriageway) of 5.5 metres with 0.5 shoulders on both sides.
During the inspection, MLA Letzamang emphasised that quality control and completion of the project within the stipulated time has always been his top priority.
He further said that inspection will be done periodically and warned of stern action jf work quality is compromised.
The project is the result of the implementation of the present government's commitment to serve the people of Henglep constituency.
Upon completion, the long-cherished dreams of Henglep denizens to have an all-weather road will be a reality, the MLA went on.
He then said that the project is a major step to improve connectivity between Henglep Sub-Division and Churachandpur district headquarters and expressed hope that it will ensure accelerated growth and bring the once-neglected Henglep A/C to the path of development.
MLA Letzamang appealed to the public to extend maximum cooperation to the development initiatives of the state government.
