Minister Ranjan launches SUMAN for PHC Wangoi

Health & family Welfare and IPR minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh launched Surakshit Matritva Aswasan (SUMAN) Scheme at CHC Wangoi on Wednesday.
The minister also inaugurated the health centre's operation theatre.
It may be mentioned that the scheme launched by the central government aims to provide quality health care at no cost to every woman and newborn visiting a public health facility.
Speaking as chief guest, minister Ranjan termed as a landmark achievement of the department that the operation theatre has been made operational besides launch of the SUMAN scheme.
Expressing confidence that SUMAN scheme and operation of the new facility will benefit the people residing in and around Wangoi, Dr Ranjan further said that primary health care system needs to be focused since it is the foundation of tertiary health care system.
For a better health care delivery system, an efficient grassroots health care service is necessary.
In this re gard commitment of the health care professionals is very much required.
It is through the sincere and dedicated service of the health staffers that the goal of a global health can be achieved, he added.
Minister Ranjan also stressed the importance of preventive measures, stating that periodical tests and regular health check-up are necessary for keeping a better health.
Appropriate policies to achieve the best health care service in the state will be chalked out in consultation with the chief minister and other stakeholders.
Required staff, machineries and infrastructures of CHC, Wangoi will be provided on priority basis, he added.
The minister also visited different departments and inspected the infrastructure and facilities of the health centre.
He also interacted with the doctors and staffers of the centre.
Speaking on the occasion as president, Wangoi MLA Khuraijam Loken observed that through dedicated and sincere service of the health staffers, Wangoi CHC can set an example for the future.
He also said that imbibing competitive spirit during service period is imperative to show one's ability in their service.
O Lukhoi Singh, ex-Minister, V Vumlunmang, ACS, Yumnam Nilamani, vice chairman Khadi & Village Industries Board, Dr K Rajo Singh, director Health Services, and Dr Somorjit Ningombam, mission director State Health Society were also present as special guest of honour and guests of honour respectively.
Doctors and nurses of CHC, Wangoi and others also attended the launch event.
