Imphal, November 14 2021:
BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president Ch Chidananda has said that Singjamei MLA and speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Yumnam Khemchand played a crucial role in protecting the BJP government and saved it from falling apart on many occasions.
Attending a one day political conference held at Singjamei Thongam Leikai organised by BJP Singjamei Mandal, Chidananda said that BJP promised to do in six months what Congress government could not do in 15 years at the time of the 2017 election campaign.
With BJP leading the government, the indefinite economic blockade along the national highways was lifted and the government was successful in bringing closer the hill-valley relationship.
Amid the volatile political situation that the state faced, MLA Khemchand as the speaker of Assembly played a major role in keeping together the BJP government by preventing it from falling apart.
He also hailed the MLA's development works and public welfare services including corruption free services, proactive steps to fight Covid-19 pandemic by setting up one of the country's most acclaimed quarantine centres and developing Singjamei into a model constituency by making it one of the most advanced constituencies of the state.
Frankly, Khemchand is one of the sure shot candidates of BJP as his name features among the top in the winnability list.
It would be futile for candidates of other parties to make any attempt to get past him and win the 2022 election, he added.
Stating that the party had to sacrifice many of its ideologies and targets as the government was a coalition, he called upon the people of Singjamei AC to contribute their mite in ensuring win of 40 plus seats by BJP in the forthcoming election.
BJP Singjamei Mandal president Ksh Rajen, former IMC corporators Th Bamkimchandra, Th Eliza and L Lokeshwar were also present at the political conference.
