NAAC team assesses Lilong Haoreibi College

A peer team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Bengaluru assessed Lilong Haoreibi College for accreditation.
In a release, Lilong Haoreibi College principal Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh informed that the NAAC committee consisting of Gurukul Kangri University Haridwar Prof Shrawan K Sharma, Diamond Harbour Women's University West Bengal Prof Rajkumar Kothari and Tyagbir Hem Baru-ah College Assam Prof Ajit Hazarika assessed the physical infrastructure and other details of the college during the two-day visit.
It may be noted that Lilong Haoreibi College was established in 1976 but it has not been accredited since the last two decades.
This is the first time the only college located at the minority concentrated area has been able to qualify for the assessment, the release said.
MLA of the locality Y Antaz Khan, University & Higher Education director Dr Rangitabali Waikhom, additional director P Shantikumar Singh, Manipur University controller of examinations Prof N Nimai Singh, College Development Council director Prof Jibon Singh, former principal of the college Dr A Nabachandra Singh were some of the members who attended the meeting held on Monday as a part of the peer visit.
The peer team also interacted with students, faculty members, alumni members and parents in different sessions.
The team handed over the report of the assessment to the principal in the exit meeting held on the second day on Tuesday.
