Imphal, September 05 2022:
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has asserted that the results of the recently held entrance test for admission to Diploma in Elementary Education (D El Ed) course in different DIET Centres are unacceptable as the selection list was published without publishing the consolidated list showing the marks obtained by the entrants.
Addressing a press meet at its office on Monday, DESAM education and academic affairs secretary Th Somol Luwang said that there was an agreement with the authority on publishing the consolidated list of entrants along with the marks they obtained in order to make the entrance test transparent.
However, the authority published the selected list while ig noring the agreement on September 3 along with an admission notice.
As such, DESAM is boycotting the counselling scheduled on September 7, he said.
The secretary also pointed out that the DIET Centres in the state do not have functioning websites even though NCTE guidelines make it mandatory for such centres to upload any information related with the centres in their official websites.
Informing that the boycott will remain effective until the authority publish the consolidated list, he said that the principals and admission committees of the DIET Centres will be held responsible for any unwanted consequences if they went ahead with the counselling and admission process without publishing the consolidated list.
