Book fair underway, art expo from April 1

With an objective to inculcate reading habits among the people, The Readers Bookstore is organising a mini book fair in connection with its 5th anniversary at the store located at Heijigang Keithel, Canchipur.
The book fair that began from March 23 will continue till April 2, which is the 5th anniversary of the bookstore.
Different genres of books including fiction, non-fiction, North East titles, Marxist literature, etc., are being sold with offers or at discounted price such as 'buy2 get one free' and 'buy 2 books at Rs 200', among others.
Speaking in this regard, The Readers Book store co-ordinator Ashem Milan informed that the bookstore is a collective venture of students, scholars and people working in different professions who are on a mission mode to avail books to the people and inculcate the reading habits among them.
By gaining knowledge one can become critical in his or her thoughts on various issues and work for the betterment of the society, he expressed, while adding that the store has been organising such fairs exclusively for the store and also taking part in various book fairs.
"We are organising such fairs as much as we could by giving different offers so that people can browse the books and buy them at cheaper rates," he said, while appealing to the people and bibliophiles in particular to visit the store and support independent bookstores.
A two-day art and photography exhibition will also be conducted at the book store from April 1 while on the last day (April 2) a poetry session will be held in connection with the store's anniversary.
