Protestors storm MLAs' residents, Raghumani clarifies

As the violence con-tinued unabated in the state with more and more civilians being forced to flee for their lives, protestors in different parts of the state continued to storm residents of their re-spective MLAs to submit mem-orandum demanding them to make public their stand on the current issue.
Meanwhile, Uripok MLA Kh Raghumani, whose house was vandalised by an angry mob clarified that he did not get any chance to talk with the protestors on May 28 when they stormed his home and start-ed vandalising his properties without giving any opportu-nity to sort out issues.
As some of the mob entered inside his home and started ransacking, he had to use firearm to protect self and his family's lives.
The firearm was not targeted to in-jure the mob and he regrets that some of the protestors were wounded in the incident.
In a release sent from Delhi, he also prayed for early recovery of the injured persons and conveyed that he could not issue the clar-ification on Sunday itself as he and his family were on the run.
Meira Paibi organisations of Nambol assembly constituency along with Development and Protection United Voluntary Organisation Nambol also submitted a memorandum to Nambol MLA and education minister Th Basanta Kumar at his official residence at Baba-para on Monday demanding him to press the Prime Minister and union home minister to restore peace and uphold the territorial integrity of the state.
In response, the MLA assured to uphold the trust the public have on him and stand along with them for the state and its people.
He also said that he is ready to resign as minister as well as MLA if the situation demands.
Wangoi MLA Kb Loken also interacted with large number of protestors, who came to his home at Yumnam Huidrom Thiyam Leishangkhong with a memorandum for submis-sion to union home minister Amit Shah with the demand for termination of So0 agree-ment with Kuki groups and protection of Meetei civilians from the Kuki militants.
While interacting with the protes-tors, the MLA assured to always stand with the people and carry out their wishes in order to protect the unity and integrity of the state.
The protestors also submitted a similar memorandum to ex-MIA 0 Lukhoi of Wangoi AC but handed over the memorandum to his elderbrother Jadumani as the ex-MLA was not at home.
