DC appeals for participation in Eat Right Mela

Thoubal district deputy, commissioner A Subhash Singh has appealed to the denizens to take part in the 'Eat Right Mela' which will be held on June 27 at Thoubal Mela Ground.
The DC said Eat Right Mela is being held to give awareness to the public about consuming right food and healthy diets through an interactive and informative model.
He also urged the public to take part in Walkathon and other entertainment programmes which will be jointly organised by Food Safety and Thoubal district administration.
It is worth mentioning that Eat Right Mela is an infotainment model of food festival to engage, excite enable citizens to make right food choices.
The mela provides an opportunity to learn about safe food and healthy diets, including quick tests for adulterants, health and nutrition benefits of food, dietary advice by experts, information on government programmes and initiatives and much more.
Pavilions displaying interesting exhibits, and stalls showcasing local food, temple foods and organic foods will also feature in the mela.
The Eat Right Mela is conducted annually by FSSAI headquarters in New Delhi.
In addition to this, states also identify local organisations working with street food vendors, local authorities and related government departments organise these fairs.
Further, states work with these organisations and local authorities to get street food vendors trained under FSSAI's.The Eat Right India Movement is aimed at ushering a new food culture by nudging both food businesses and consumers to eat safe, healthy and sustainably, which are the pillars of the movement.
