AR units reach out to villages

Imphal, March 23 2023:
Moreh Battalion Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) constructed water supply scheme at TM Zoumunnum village, Moreh under Assam Rifles Civic Action Project for the financial year 2022-23 and handed over to the village authorities on March 21 .
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the Battalion has been making effort to address the grievances and to ensure a better and positive environment amongst the local populace.
The project will serve as an impetus to improve the relations as well as build mutual trust between Security Forces and the villagers, it added.
Meanwhile, Khuga Battalion of Churachandpur Sector IGAR (South) constructed a public toilet at Singhat village in Churachandpur district with an aim to extend the public toilet facility to villagers and transient population/pas-sengers at Singhat village as part Assam Rifles Civic Action Project.
The initiative was taken after due discussion and assessment of requirement of villagers in border areas.
This initiative will go a long way in ensuring a clean and hygienic environment in the border.
On the other hand, Somsai Battalion of IGAR (South) under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme (ARCAP) provided CGI sheets and solar lamps to Floringson Luirei orphanage at Shirui village in Ukhrul district on Thursday.
The initiative was taken based on the request of Shirui village authorities to refurbish the orphanage.
The assistance will aid 20 elderly people residing in the orphanage, said the PRO.
