Bishnupur launches Clean India 2.0 Campaign

Bishnupur district administration in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Sangathan, Bishnupur officially launched the month-long Clean India 2.0 Campaign in Bishnupur district on Thursday.
To coincide with the launch programme, a meeting in connection with single use plastics was also held at the Conference Hall of Bishnupur Mini Secretariat Complex during which deputy commissioner Lourembam Bikram highlighted that the district cannot afford to ignore littering as Bishnupur is a tourist hotspot.
Acknowledging the huge role and contribution of local organisations involved in the campaign, the DC exuded confidence that Clean India Campaign 2.0 in the district will be successful with active the grassroots.
Meanwhile, NYK Bishnupur deputy director Dr S Dhananchandra Singh informed that the campaign this year will focus on single use plastics.
He also opined that Bishnupur will be able to achieve its collection target of about 4,000 kg of plastic wastes.
Local clubs which participated voluntarily in the Clean India Campaign last year also shared their experiences to guide and motivate the new local club entrants.
It may be mentioned nupur has scheduled daily activities under the campaign throughout the month of October spanning across different villages in the district.
Bishnupur ADC H Bobby Sharma, Zilla Parishad CEO L Manikanta Singh, SDO Mamoni Doley, AC to DC Ejaj Hassan, BDO Moirang L Rishikanta, PHED Bishnupur executive engineer, EOs of Bishnupur Municipal Councils and local club representatives from about 40 organisations participated in the meeting.
