Kangpokpi, Bishnupur prepare for KT campaign, distribute flags

Kangpokpi district administration distributed national flags for 'Har Ghar Tiranga' (HGT) campaign to various departments in the district at DC's Office Complex, Kangpokpi town on Wednesday.
A total of 19,314 national flags were received from General Administrative Department (GAD) on Tuesday and as per the guidelines, various departments collected 7936 National Flags till office hour on Wednesday.
The flags will be hoisted at various institutions including offices, schools and households in the district during HGT campaign which has been launched as part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', commemorate the 75 glorious and historic years of a progressive India.
Bishnupur deputy commissioner Lourembam Bikram also handed over national flags to the officials concerned for further distribution to households, offices and local clubs in the district.
He also called upon officials present at the event and to all people of Bishnupur district to join in the campaign by participating in selfie with the flag on social media platforms - Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and by changing DP to Indian flag on social media handles.
The DC also chaired a meeting to review the preparation for the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign which will be held from August 13 to 15.Addressing the meeting, he said district administration had received the flag for the campaign and will be distributed to households of the district.
He stressed that for successful conduct of HGT campaign, the main task of the district administration is ensuring timely distribution of flags to the people.
Attended by the chief executive officer, Zilla Panchayat, SDOs, BDOs, pradhans, chairpersons of Municipal Councils, district level officers, college principals, the meeting discussed strategies to ensure successful conduct of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in the district.
The DC also urged all the attendees for cooperation and support to make the campaign a grand success.
Bikram said Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is to encourage people to hoist the National Flag to mark the 75th year of India's independence.
The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people, he said and added that Flag Code of India 2002 had also been amended vide Order dated 19th July, 2022 "where the Flag is displayed in open or displayed on the house of a member of the public, it may be flown day and night" .
