Low count continues with 37 new cases reported

The State continues to see a decline in detection of fresh Covid cases for two days straight as only 37 samples came out positive while testing 508 samples in the last 24 hours and registered a single day positivity rate of 7.3 per cent.
This is the first time the figure of single day infections fell below 50 since July 11 which saw 45 cases.
The number of recovered cases also exceeded the fresh Covid cases in the period as 78 persons were discharged from Home Isolation (52), RIMS (11), SHRI (2) and Discharge (13).The State now has 541 active Covid cases.
The 37 cases were confirmed at RIMS (10) and other testing centres (37) and they are residents of Imphal East (8), Imphal West (11), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (4), Kangpokpi (2), Senapati (2), Jiribam (1), Pherzawl (2), Churachandpur (5) and Chandel (1).The total number of Covid cases in the State has risen to 1,39,074 of which 1,36,404 have recovered while 2129 have died.
Despite the drop in fresh cases, the test positivity rate was high in some districts, especially at Pherzawl which reported a TPR of 50 per cent.
Churachandpur (26.3 pc), Bishnupur (20 pc), Kangpokpi (16.7 pc) and Senapati (15.4 pc) are the other districts where TPR was higher than 10 per cent.
The figure of Covid fatalities remains at 2129 as none died in the period while the recovery rate stands at 98.08 per cent.
Yesterday, 316 D type and 13 B type oxygen cylinders were distributed 3080 Covid vaccine doses were also administered.
At least 47 Covid beds are unoccupied at RIMS (32) and JNIMS (15), as per the Government bulletin.
With 3105353 Covid vaccine doses administered so far, 62.20 per cent of the people eligible for vaccination in Manipur have taken the first dose while 53.98 per cent have been vaccinated fully.
