Imphal, May 26 2021:
One Khumbongmayum Suresh, who is preparing to contest the upcoming election from Uripok AC, on Wednesday handed over a newly constructed house to Irom Debjani (50) wife of late Birchandra, who lives alone all by herself.
Speaking on the sidelines of formally handing over the house, Suresh pointed out that there are people who struggle to live and do not even have a proper house in Uripok AC which is right in the heart of Imphal city.
It is distressful to hear and see people without proper house in the constituency amidst the troubling times of Covid-19 pandemic, he said.
Pointing out that Uripok constituency is not only in the heart of Imphal but also a constituency of the deputy chief minister of the state; Suresh noted that there are many families living below the poverty line and struggling for survival during the troubling times of Covid-19 in the heart of Imphal.
As such, all the necessary initiatives for uplifting the constituency will be taken up, he assured, while urging the people to extend co-operation.
