Joykisan seeks public support to mega blood camp

Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykisan has appealed to the people of the state to participate in the mega blood donation drive to be organised by Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad as part of a nationwide birthday celebration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17 .
Addressing a press meet held at Dharmashala, Thangal Bazar here on Thursday morning, MLA Joykisan said that he will also be donating blood during the drive, while adding that the main objective of the drive is to make up for deficit of blood in hospitals and blood banks since the last 2-3 years owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Stating that donating blood is the biggest service that any human can do in their life; the MLA informed that the blood donation drive will commence from 9am on September 17 at RIMS.
Anyone in the age group of 18-65 years can donate their blood during the camp, he said.
The MLA also pointed out that anyone could get injured or sick at any given time and as such, urged all concerned to donate blood and help save precious human lives.
Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad member Pushparaj recounted that people used to hesitate to donate blood in old days.
However, many are now aware of the benefits of donating blood to their self and others.
He then informed that the blood donation camp will be conducted in each district of the state, alongside the donation camps organised by BSF and CRPF companies.
A target has been set to set up 2000 camps in different places and collect 1,50,000 units of blood during the observance.
