Thoubal, May 10 2021:
Lilong Community Health Centre (CHC) has termed outrageous that one Y Ziaul Haque (30), son of Haji Ziauddin of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai, in an attempt to cover up own faults, has made fabricated charges against the staff and managing committee of CHC Lilong through the media.
Addressing a press meet held at CHC Lilong on Monday, an eyewitness of the incident and CHC staff recounted that Ziaul Haque visited the CHC on May 8 around 1:30 pm for treatment of his child, but as the day being second Saturday there was no normal OPD, so he booked a ticket for emergency OPD.
He then started creating a scene saying that he works in the Air Force and pay Rs 30 for availing the emergency OPD service on the ground that the price of hospital ticket is only Rs 10 across the country.
Regardless of explaining about the differences in ticket rates for normal OPD and emergency OPD Ziaul Haque continued ranting against the CHC staff and even accused them of being corrupt, the staffer maintained.
As the commotion persisted the staff on duty called in CHC in-charge, members of management committee and local volunteers present at the nearby Covid-19 vaccination centre to sort out the issue.
However, a large number of Ziaul Haque's family members arrived at the CHC and started manhandling the staff.
The incident led to violation of Covid-19 SOPs, disturbance in CHC's work and vaccination programme during which Ziaul also proclaimed that he from the Air Force personnel will take action against the staff, staff member recalled.
The staff member continued that the incident happened because of the misconduct of Ziaul Haque and his family members as witnessed by everyone present.
So, they should not try to defame the CHC and local volunteers by twisting the tale.
The staff members have been working selflessly in the interest of the public during this Covid-19 pandemic, but if such incident persists, they fear they might not be able to continue their service, the staff member stated.
Joining the media briefing, CHC Lilong MO in-charge Dr Lucky condemned the bid to falsely implicate the staff member and revealed that an official report on the entire incident including use of offensive languages against the doctors, nurses, staff and other volunteers on duty has been sent to the authority concerned.
A letter will also be sent to Air Force authorities asking them to take action against Ziaul Haque for his misconduct.
Dr Lucky also urged authorities concerned to provide security arrangement for the CHC so that such incidents do not happen again.
