Air Marshal PP Reddy Takes Over As CISC

Air Marshal PP Reddy has taken over as Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee on July 1, a press statement of Lt.Col Ajay Kumar Sharma, PRO (Defence) said today.
Commissioned as a Fighter Pilot in the Air Force in June 1977, PP Reddy is an alumnus of Rashtriya Indian Military College, National Defence Academy and Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, the statement informed, adding that he is a Qualified Flying Instructor and an Experimental Test Pilot who has flown 3600 hrs on various types of fighter as well as transport aircraft, including SU-30 MKI.
He has also commanded a MiG-27 Squadron and a Fighter Base in Kashmir Valley, it added.
The Air Marshal has worked in the Plans Branch at Air HQ and was instrumental in the implementation of SU-30 MKI, IL-78 Flight Refueller Aircraft and MiG-27 upgrade programs, the statement said.
He has also served as the Chief Test Pilot at Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment, Air Adviser at High Commission of India, London, Senior Officer-in-Charge Administration at South Western Air Command and Senior Air Staff Officer at Training Command.
He was the Director General (Inspection & Safety) at Air HQ prior to his present appointment.
