Bishnupur, September 25 2021:
District Health Society, Bishnupur on Saturday convened a District Level Steering Committee on National Deworming Day at the conference hall of Mini Secretariat Complex here.
The Committee resolved to continue observing National Deworming Day (NDD) Programme from September 27 to October 12 as per the recommendation of Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
With schools remaining closed as per Covid guideline, this round of NDD will be carried out through community-based approach during the specified days instead of the earlier bi-annual single day programme implemented through schools and Anganwadi centres.

The door-to-door delivery and administration of Albendazole tablets to all children and adolescents aged between 1 to 19 years will be carried out by frontline health workers namely Anganwadi workers, ASHAs and Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) during home visits while maintaining Covid-19 safety guidelines.
The meeting was attended by additional deputy commissioner Bishnupur as well as DHS members comprising officials from CMO, Zilla Parishad, ZEO, WCD, PHED, Social Welfare, Family Welfare, DIO/DIPR, ICDS, NHM, RKSK/RBSK, SSA and Private Schools Welfare Association.
