Imphal, December 14 2014:
The chairmen of Southern Tahamzam Naga Council, Senapati and Liangmai Naga Council, Senapati Zone have said on Friday that they are deeply anguished and shocked over the highly misleading and obnoxious press statement of one Hari Prasad Nepal claiming himself to be the GB of Irang Part-I .
In a joint press release, the two bodies claimed that a few Nepali families were granted grazing rights for their cattle in Naga area of present Sadar Hills, Senapati district, but settlement right was never given to them because the British India Government was very much aware that the land belonged to the Naga tribe over which the former did not have any right.
It condemned the statement of Hari Prasad Nepal for allegedly making a highly misleading and malicious statement, but added that the council and village chairmen respect and honour the Nepalese community.
The press statement appealed to all communities living in Irang area, particularly the Nagas and Nepalese not to allow Hari Prasad Nepal and his wicked design to mislead them.
It further urged Hari Prasad Nepal to give up his alleged illegal activities so that the two communities can maintain peaceful co-existence.
