Tangkhul YouTube news channel celebrates

The Tangkhul Express, a standalone YouTube news channel, celebrated its 1st anniversary at Zimik Plaza, Viewland in Ukhrul town here on Wednesday.
The Tangkhul Express founder Ramngachan Ningshen said that the news bulletin started on April 23, 2021 but due to lack of requisite equipment, it was presented only in audio format till May 31, 2021 .
Visual news bulletin of the Tangkhul Express officially came into being from June 1, 2021 when news videos were uploaded on the YouTube platform, he said and thanked public for their support.
Former Ukhrul MLA Alfred Kanngam Arthur and BJP's political programme & meeting co-in-charge Michael Shaiza attended the event as special guests.
This is the only news channel available in the district.
And since it is presenting the news in Tangkhul dialect, it has the potential to reach out to all the illiterate people in remote villages, said Arthur and exhorted the TTE team to strive for truth in its service while keeping with the ethics of journalism.
Speaking on the occasion, Shaiza congratulated the TTE team on the successful completion of one year in public service.
He urged TTE team to continue serving the community with dedication and add more features like employment bulletin and others for the benefits of the public especially youngsters.
TTE editor Yozori K Shimray said that the team is putting their best possible efforts despite limited resources.
Rev Mathotmi Vasha, executive secretary, TBCA and UTBC pastor Rev Somi Kasomwoshi invoked the almighty's blessing for the news channel to prosper in its public service.
