Imphal, April 27 2015 :
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) expressed concerned over the unchecked private tuition centres in the State on Monday and invited every section of the society to give suggestions to mitigate this problem.
In a statement DESAM said that tutors are taking exorbitant tuition fees from students whimsically and also these tuition or coaching centres are using sound systems by way of teaching.
It alleged that many school teachers persuaded their own students to seek admission at the tuition centres promising them to give practical marks and internal assessment marks for annual final exams.
DESAM said that a competition on sending their wards to different tuition centres among parents and guardians is now on the rise in the State just because they want their children to become engineers and doctors.
It suggested for parents to opt for improving the school educational system and discourage the private tuition system.
DESAM also appealed to all sections of the society to give opinions and suggestion on the present trend of private tuition system in Manipur.
