Ukhrul journos capacitated on usage of Tangkhul language

Media practitioners based in Ukhrul were on Wednesday trained on usage of Tangkhul language in the day-long workshop programme organised at the conference hall of Ukhrul Circuit House.
Delivering the inaugural welcome address, Tangkhul Literature Society (TLS) president Kol Kasar spelt the importance of capacitating the professionals working in mass media on usage of Tangkhul language and lauded the effort to conduct the training programme for the local journalists.
Kasar assured all possible assistance towards any initiative to develop and improve the growth of Tangkhul dialect.
Today's Training Workshop for Media Practitioners on Usage of Tangkhul Language was organised by Ukhrul District Journalists Association (UDJA) under the sponsorship of Tangkhul Literature Society (TLS).
In the first session of the training workshop, a renowned Tangkhul writer and scholar C.Chiphang conducted the capacity training workshop on "Spelling and Usage" for media practitioners comprising journalists from print, radio and electronic media.
In the second session, Mark Chiphang, a teacher in Alice Christian Higher Secondary School, trained the mediapersons on Sentence Construction and Usage.
UDJA president Sothing Shimray delivered the vote of thanks and concluding remark.
He appreciated the TLS for extended sponsorship to the training workshop and believed such effort will continue in future.
In today's programme, TLS members, Imphal-based All India Radio Tangkhul news reader and language enthusiasts also participated in the daylong workshop.
