Oppn to Palace take over unabated

Decrying the State Cabinet's decision to take over the Sana Konung (Royal Palace) and shift out the King to some other place for developing the Palace into a historical monument, different organizations congregated at the Palace to denounce the decision and reaffirm the pledge to safeguard it from the clutches of State Government.
Speaking to media persons, Salam Dhanachandra, a leader of Khana Chaoba Wangpurel Sintha Apunba, said that the Meetei community would eventually vanish if the Monarchy is abolished.
So, the State Cabinet decision to take over the Sana Konung and shift out the King from the Palace cannot be accepted by the people at all.
He further maintained that he would have appreciated the Government if it had decided to render possible assistances in the development of the Palace rather taking over it.
Sugnu Hanjaba Angom Purnachandra contended that the King and Queen still rule in the United Kingdom.
The World recognizes the King of Manipur.
The decision of the State government is totally against the aspirations of the people.
Members of Sana Konung Semgat Lup were also present in the protest meeting.
