Ayushman Bharat Diwas observed in districts

'Ayushman Bharat Diwas' was observed in Kangpokpi and Chandel districts on Friday.
In Kangpokpi district the 4th anniversary celebration of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was held at the Gamnom Saparmeina community hall in Saitu Gamphazol.
It can be mentioned that AB-PMJAY scheme was launched on September 23, 2018 with an aim to provide free access to health insurance to the low-income group in the country.
As part of the programme, 78 students of 12 government schools participated in the district level slogan writing and painting competition organised by the State Health Agency in collaboration with the district administration, ZEO and CMHT/PMJAY nodal officer of the district.
Deputy commissioner Kengoo Zuringla in presence of SDO Saitu Gamphazol Sapam Bishwojit Singh presented certificates and cash incentives to winners of both the competitions at the end of the event.
Two recipients of the State Teachers' Award from the district namely Seikholen Singsit (Science Graduate Teacher), who is also the Keithelmanbi Government High School headmaster in-charge, and Kharga Prasad Prasain (Hindi Graduate Teacher) & Bishnulal High School headmaster in-charge were also felicitated by the DC during the function.
Meanwhile, Chandel district administration observed 'Ayushman Bharat Diwas' at conference hall of DC's Office on Friday.
Speaking as the chief guest, ADM Md Firoj Khan said that AB-PMJAY scheme is one of the biggest health Schemes in the world.
In her address, Chandel chief medical officer Dr Serthani Serbum elaborated on both the AB-PMJAY and the CMHT schemes.
She highlighted the benefits of the schemes and also urged all the people present to create awareness about the health schemes as many eligible families are still not getting the benefits due to lack of awareness.
As a part of observance, painting competition, slogan writing and declamation contest were conducted.
Students and teachers of over eight schools from all over the district participated in the programme.
Prizes were distributed to the winners while 'Health comics' were presented to all the students present in the function.
The event hosted by CMHT/PMJAY Chandel district coordinator Ng Kennedy Monsang was attended by large number of students, teachers, Health Department staff and DLOs.
