Many extend Cheiraoba greetings

Governor Anusuiya Uikey, chief minister N Biren, ministers, political parties and civil society organisations have extended their warm and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba, which will be celebrated on Wednesday.
In her message, Governor Anusuiya said that New Year' is an occasion for the people to rejoice,, look forward to the future with hope and make resolutions to usher in a year of peace and harmony.
"I also look forward to the New Year as the harbinger for a happy and prosperous life for all the people in the state irrespective of caste, creed or religion.
I am hopeful that the advent of the New Year will further cement the bond of friendship among the different communities," the Governor said.
According to CM N Biren, Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba marks the Mani-puri New Year, bringing new hopes and possibilities.
"It is considered as harbinger of prosperity and progress, and reinforces the age-old bond of brotherhood between the different communities of the state," he said and wished that the festival fills all with positivity and zeal to turn the collective dreams into reality and efforts into achievements.
On the other hand, ministers Th Basanta Kumar Singh, Awangbow New-mai, Nemcha Kipgen and Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh, MLA and MANIDCO chairman K Robindro Singh, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president Keisham Meghachandra, United Peoples' Front Manipur, Uttra Shanglen (Sanakonung), Meetei Erol Eyek Loina Sillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL), Manipur Students' Federation (MSF) publicity secretary Abhijeet Kabraban and All Manipur Meitei Pangal Clubs' Organisation (AMMPACO) also extended their greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba.
