Imphal, July 04 2013:
Urging legislators not to turn the society into chaos with their anti-people stand, South East Asia Cultural Organisation (SEACO) has maintained that the decision of the State Cabinet to oust the titular king from Sana Konung is a trick to encroach upon the land.
In a statement, Laishram Kenedy Khuman, Secretary of SEACO, stated that decision to convert Sana Konung into a historical monument by throwing out the king, who is the customary head of the land, from his rightful place is to disintegrate the identity and unity of the people of Manipur.
Demanding withdrawal of the Cabinet decision to take over Sana Konung within 10th July, SEACO has also warned of launching agitation along with other social bodies to protect the cultural identity of Manipur and its people.
