Training on entrepreneurship development in sericulture ends

The valedictory function of a 10-day training programme on Entrepreneurship Development in Sericulture was held on Saturday at District Sericulture Office, Chandel.
The event was attended by deputy director (Seri) Headquarter K Kachui, CSR&TI Berhampore Scientist-C Dr Parameswaranaik J, Scientist-D of RSRS Mantripukhri Dr L Somen Singh and Chandel District Sericulture Office assistant director (Tasar) Amang Mangte as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, deputy director K Kachui stressed that the beneficiaries must avail and make use of the schemes offered by Sericulture Department to make their livelihood sustainable.
All the staff must also dedicate and sacrifice for betterment of the farmers, he said and added that the department is ever ready to help the farmers and urged the staff to extend maximum help to the farmers.
The training was conducted for 50 beneficiaries in two batches of 25 trainees each.
The five-day training for the 1st batch for 25 beneficiaries was held from September 19 to 23 while another five days training for the 2nd batch was held from September 26 to 30, said a release by Chandel DSO assistant director Amang Mangte.
The programme was organised by the Central Sericulture Research & Training Institute, Berhampore, Central Silk Board Ministry of Textile as a part of "Seri-Entrepreneurship Development in Aspirational Districts of North-Eastern India" project with funding from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), ministry of Science and Technology, New Delhi.
During the training, experts from National Board of Workers Education & Development, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and DoS staff were hired as resource persons, said the release.
Certificates were also presented to all the trainees during a function for successful completion of the training, it added.
