English language Teachers trained

A three-day intensive training programme for English language teachers was conducted at Sainik School Imphal on 24 March 2014 .
Prof (Dr) M.E.Veda Sharan, Head of Department of ESL Studies and Dr Revathi Srinivas, Asst Professor, Department of Materials Development from the English & Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad conducted the training programme for all the teaching staff of Sainik School, Imphal.
Speaking at the Inauguration ceremony, Group Captain (Dr) DD Mishra, Principal, Sainik School Imphal conveyed his gratitude to both the resource persons for having planned the course content specific to the requirements and objectives of Sainik School Imphal.
He also emphasized upon the importance of developing sound communication skills and its multiple advantages.
Various sub-skills of English viz, speaking, listening, writing and other aspects like vocabulary and grammar will be covered during the training programme.
The demonstrative and play-way methods of teaching being employed generated tremendous response and enthusiasm from the participants.
Discussions and team games being conducted as a part of the training are exposing the participants to novel and creative methods of teaching, thereby developing a liking for the English language among the students.
