Fertilizer smugglers handed over to Customs Division

All the six people, who were arrested along with three trucks loaded with urea and DAP fertilizers from near Turning village under Sangaikot sub division of Churachandpur district on June 21, have been handed over to Customs Division, Imphal.
The development has come after investigation by agriculture department found out that the seized fertilizers were unrelated with the department/government but meant for smuggling into Myanmar.
Accordingly, all the six people along with seized 200 bags of DAP, 400 bags of urea (Dr Fasal brand) and three trucks have been handed over to Customs Division, Imphal on Thursday evening for further necessary action.
The arrested people include three drivers and three other individuals namely Mangminlian Phiamphu (26) son of late Doulel of Tuning village, CCPur (driver); Kapsianpau Phiamphu (28) son of Lammang of Tuning village (driver); Tongkhohao Haokip (22) son of Shokhilun Haokip of M Phaimol village, Churachandpur (driver), Mangneo Haokip (24) son of Thonglet of Haijang village, Churachandpur (consignor of Dr Fasal Urea N-40); Thokchom Bidur Singh (35) son of late Th Thanil of Thinungei Awang Leikai (supplier of Dr Fasal Urea N-40) and Anthony Paotin-len Haokip alias Lenpu (23) son of Paul Ngamlal Haokip of Jordan village, Khengjoi sub-division, Chandel district.
