Pharmacist tests positive, C-zone notified

The total number of positive cases in Tengnoupal district shot up to 25 after a pharmacist in Nepali Basti, Ward no 5 tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
The said area has been notified as a containment zone.
According to a report, the pharmacist had been having a fever over the last 4-5 days.
On Monday, he underwent a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at the Covid-19 section opened at Sub- -district Hospital Moreh, wherein his test came positive for Covid-19.The pharmacist is currently in home isolation after officials of the medical department visited him and deemed him for the same.
So far, 25 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the district of which 3 of them have been admitted to Sub-district Hospital Moreh isolation ward, while 14 are in home isolation; two in.isolation at St Joseph; one in community isolation centre at Forest Guest House; one admitted to Raj Medicity, Imphal; one in District Hospital Chandel; two in CCC of 20 Assam Rifles Tengnoupal and one in Mother Care, Sagolband.
Moreh is in the grip of hysteria at present following detection of several positive cases.
Meanwhile, Tengnoupal District Police, Moreh along with commandos beefed up precautionary measures in Moreh Town to prevent any further spread of Covid-19.As part of the measures, inspections of Moreh Super Market and Community variety market were carried out wherein the vendors were found selling their wares without any social distancing or wearing face masks.
The vendors were advised to adhere to the precautionary measures and the shops were instructed to open on rotation basis.
Meetei Council Moreh president M Thoiba Singh lauded the efforts taken up by Tengnoupal District Police to prevent spread of the virus in Moreh Town.
