Diaspora extends medical aid to hospitals

Imphal, May 15 2021:
In an effort to help the healthcare centres in Manipur which are dealing with the current Covid19 pandemic, Manipuri diaspora extended medical aids to RIMS, JNIMS and other district hospitals.
In a release, Dr Elangbam Bishwajeet, who is residing in Birmingham, UK, informed that the aid was given by a group of well-wishers of Manipur including British citizens who are working as healthcare professionals, RIMS alumni, MU/DM college alumni and many citizens of Manipur currently settling in France, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, UAE, UK and most importantly many people residing in various regions of Manipur and belonging to all ethnic backgrounds.
Informing that they managed to raise some amount of money and procured many essential lifesaving supplies, Bishwajeet said that the supplies were then distributed to some of the hospitals in the state including RIMS, JMINS and some district hospitals.
Appreciating that many people in Manipur are already doing their best in ways they can to help in managing the crisis, he urged the public to donate generously to local hospitals and ensure vital medical supplies like oxygen mask, venous cannula, intravenous fluids like ringer lac-tate/normal saline and drugs like dexamethasone are readily available, enabling hospitals to start treatment on arrival to the hospitals.
He pointed out that the pandemic would only end through a strong community spirit and scientific collective efforts by all.
Offering prayers to all those families who have lost their loved ones, Bishwajeet hoped that the pandemic would be overcome by through concerted efforts of all.
