Imphal, March 13 2023: Health & IPR Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh has said that digital transformation in health care system is rapidly growing.

The minister was speaking as chief guest of the inaugural function of a State Orientation Workshop on Ayushman Bharat Digitisation Mission (ABDM), organised by Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, Manipur, at Sangai Hall, Hotel Imphal, here, on Monday.

Dr Ranjan pointed out that now people can be connected with the health care facilities through digital platform.

Digitisation of health records of individuals, which would be linked with National Digital Health Eco-System, can be done through the ABDM by downloading the ABHA App.

It is also one of the innovative and advanced ideas launched by the Prime Minister on September 27, 2021, he maintained.

Dr Ranjan said that digitisation of health care service will help to streamline and improve the health care services in the state and will benefit the rural people where there are limited health care facilities.

The fast-growing Tele Health Care service and digital platform have also made it easily accessible to health check-up and treatment of the individuals, he added.

The minister also informed that a database of around 5 lakh registered individuals has been created with health identification number in the state, while 50 per cent of the total population of the state will be covered under Ayushman Bharat Digitisation Mission by the end of the year.

Thus, monitoring of the health care in the rural areas will be made easier under the mission, he conveyed.

The Health minister then stressed the need for spreading awareness of the works taken up under the 'Health For All' scheme of National Health Authority and as such, urged the stakeholders concerned to take up their respective responsibilities in this regard.

Presided over by Health and Family Welfare additional chief secretary Vumlunmang Vualnam, the inaugural function of the workshop was attended by ABDM Manipur state mission director Dr Somorjit Ningombam, PM-JAY Manipur CEO Laltanpuii Vanchhong, Health Services director Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang and AYUSH director Dr Akoijam Lokendro as guests of honour.

Officials from National Health Agency, CMOs, Medical Superintendents, health officials, representatives from the private hospitals and others also attended the programme.
