Don Bosco College, Maram condemns physical assault on student

The Management, staff, students and the action committee of Don Bosco College, Maram have strongly condemned the physical assault on Ringsanbou Newmai, a student of BA 5thSemester of the College on July 28 at Maram Centre.
The institution in a press statement said it feels one with the victim and the family at this moment of unfortunate incident.
"The college was not remaining as a mute spectator but have extended and shown our sympathy and concern for the student of our institution," the college press statement added.
The statement then recalled that on that unfortunate day when the news reached the college around 10:30 am, a responsible staff was the first to visit the victim in the doctor's chamber.
Soon after two Asst.
Professors of the History Department were sent to meet him but the boy's relatives had taken him off to Imphal for further medical treatment.
According to the statement, the college is constantly in touch with his parents and other concern individuals about his condition.
"The Management, staff and students of the institution visited him at JNIMS hospital at Imphal on August 2 and expressed our deep sorrow.
The college has shown its solidarity to the victim and family by extending whatever help and support we could.
The institution is still trying to help and support the student," it stated.
"We would like to clarify to whomever it may concern that, though Mr.Ringsangbou Newmai is a student of the college the said incident took place outside the college campus at night as reported which is beyond the reach of the college and therefore the college has no role in such unfortunate incidents at the same time we strongly condemn such incidents.
We appeal to the general public not to tarnish the pristine image of Don Bosco College, Maram by baseless allegations," the press note added.
