Training programme for farmers

CCpur, February 25 2018:
A launching cum training programme on "Horticulture Base IFS for Higher Income and Nutritional Security for Poor and Marginal Farmers of Churachandpur" under Tribal Sub Plan was organised by ICAR � Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Churachandpur at Saihenjang village, Churachandpur district under the support of Dr IM Singh, Joint Director, ICAR Manipur Centre.
A total of 32 farmers of Churachandpur District took part in the programme.
The programme was attended by Dr Niranjan Lal, Senior Scientist and Head, Dr RK Roshan, SMS Horticulture, Dr W Rajen Singh, SMS Animal Science, KVK, Churachandpur, Jangkhosei Doungel, Village Authority Advisor, Paohao Guite Village Authority Member as dignitaries.
The dignitaries emphasize on the PM's campaign of doubling farmer's income by 2022 while expressing that integrated farming system is the only approach for small and marginal farmers to double their income.
Under this programme, a model horticulture base IFS system will be established at Saihenjang village, conveyed a press release issued by KVK Churachandpur.
During the technical session, Dr Niranjan Lal, Senior Scientist and Head Dr RK Roshan, SMS Horticulture L Basil, Farm Manager and Dr W Rajen Singh, SMS Animal Science delivered lectures on "An overview of integrated farming system", "Horticulture Base IFS for Higher Income and Nutritional Security for Poor and Marginal Farmers", "Vermicomposting" and "Pig production" respectively.
The programme was concluded by a field visit of Saihenjang Village.
