Khurai & Wangkhei roads in bad shape

'Khurai constituency does not have any defective or deteriorated roads' so said that the local MLA often.
But it is merely a self deception of the MLA, said the people of Khurai constituency.
The statement from the people came about the neglected and worsening conditions of Chaithabi Leirak road of Khurai A/C for almost 7 months and the condition has worsened due to rains.
Hence a new committee has been cionstituted to seek the mending of the road.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao exclusively, the Chaithabi Leirak Development Committee Treasurer, Th Jiten, said that the Committee will be compelled to close down the road if adequate steps are not taken up by the authorities within five days.
Further the committee will be compelled to boycott the local MLA.
The committee will seek the same for Ukhrul to Pukhao road.
Further, Jiten along with the reporters surveyed the said road during which he stated that appeals were made to the local MLA in September 2014 to mend the road.
However no response was received till date.
He also stated that a prominent worker of the local MLA residing at the same locality however has kept mum on the issue.
Similarly, the Langdai Apunba Nupi Lup (LANL) has given an ultimatum to mend and finish blacktopping of the 'Ayangpalli Road' to avoid blocking of the road by the residents and LANL.
Speaking to the team of reporters who went to survey Chaithabi Leirak road of Khurai A/C, LANL Vice-President Lairikyengbam Kananbala said that the MLAs of Wangkhei A/C and Khurai A/C have already given assurance to complete blacktopping of the road (which lies between the two A/C) by January 2015.However no such action has been taken up till date.
LANL Vice-President, Kananbala stated that the MLA had given assurance of blacktopping of the road earlier as accidents on the 'Ayangpalli Road' have cost a student's life and injured three others.
She also claimed that Khurai MLA's extensive statements on development works giving a self appraisal as unfortunate, as assurances and promises in the past were left unattended.
