CSOs of Moreh threaten to launch intense agitation

Following the imposition of 48 hours bandh in Moreh town by different organisations condemning the alleged restrictions put by 43 Assam Rifles in passing Indo-Myanmar gate no 1 and 2 along with other border areas, a press meet was held today at the office of Hill Tribal Council Moreh.
Speaking to media persons, HTC Moreh executive member Seithong Haokip maintained that the 48 hours bandh was called decrying the action of 43 Assam Rifles for imposing restrictions to the local people while passing through the Indo-Myanmar gate no 1 and 2 and also at border areas and interfering in daily businesses like transporting essential goods and commodities etc.
It can be mentioned that different CSOs in Moreh including Hill Tribal Council Moreh, Moreh Youth Club, Kuki Student Organisation, Kuki Women Union and Human Rights, All Moreh Traders Association called the bandh on August 21 .
The organisations submitted a charter of demand to Forest Minister through Tengnoupal DC yesterday, he said while warning that the CSOs will launch different modes of agitation if the Government and the authorities concerned fail to meet the demands of the organisations within August 28 .
