On February 12, the last day for withdrawal of nomination, three time Chief Minister of Nagaland and Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) was declared winner of Northern Angami-II Assembly Constituency by Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Abhjit Sinha following the withdrawal of his opponent Chupfuo Angami of the Naga People's Front (NPF) .
