Cachar district Ist divisioners feted

Silchar, June 16 2014:
As many as 105 Manipuri and Meitei Pangal students of Cachar district of Assam, who secured first division in this year's HSLC examination conducted by Secondary Education of Board, Assam (SEBA) were felicitated on Sunday at a function organised by All Assam Manipuri Students' Union, Assam (AAMSU) at B.R.Ambedkar Hall in Silchar.
During the function, Sahitya Akademy Awardee Oinam Nilkantha was also honoured with presentation of gifts.
.OChuramani Singha, Retd.Principal of G.C.College, Silchar was the chief guest of the function which was presided over by AAMSU President Seram Herajit Singh.
In his keynote speech, Pangambam Nilkanta, Gen.Secy of AAMSU highlighted the hardships faced by students of Assam, and solicited the cooperation of people in the good endeavour of the students.
Nilotpol Choudhury, Executive Director of Dainik Jugashanga; K.Atan Singh, Chairman, OBC, Development Board, Silchar; S.Kamalakanta Singh, Ex-President, All Assam Manipuri Students' Union, Assam (AAMSU) and Principal i/c, DNNK H S School, Silchar; R.K.Gopal Sana, Deputy Director Design Irrigation Zone 5, Silchar and Thiyam Naresh Singh, President, HQ All Manipur Students Union, (AMSU), Manipur were also present on the occasion as Guests of Honour.
