One more BJP intending candidate in Henglep seat

Churachandpur, January 11 2022:
One Michael Lamjathang Haokip, s/o T Lhunkholet of Paniel village, convened a press conference at his residence on Tuesday and announced his decision to contest the upcoming 12th Legislative Assembly Election from 58-Henglep assembly constituency.
Expressing his desire to become a member of the state legislative assembly, Michael Lamjathang said that since Manipur attained statehood many MLAs have been elected from Henglep but so far there is no perceptible progress and development, due to which he took decided to contest in the upcoming election.
Talking further about certain factors that have given him the impetus, Mechael said that he was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is a diehard fan of him due to his innovative ideas besides the incumbent chief minister N Biren Singh.
Lamjathang hails from Nahjang village under Henglep but went to Bangalore for further studies and is now planning to join the fray.
Disclosing the reason of his joining the BJP, Lamjathang said that chief minister N Biren inspired him so much because Biren tided over situations of chaos and confusion and solved many issues by dint of dialogue and love for the people.
He also said that he got enrolled as BJP primary member under the influence of Sunil Deodar during the racial attack on NE people and its subsequent confusion and there has not been any looking back since then.
In 2012-14 when large areas of tribal land were about to be acquired in Moreh, the problem was settled under the initiative of BJP leadership, he added.
Michael declared that in case he fails to get the people's mandate he will try to be an agent of proactive change.
He further said that he wanted to bring back the misguided youths to the mainstream while stating that there are villages under Henglep and 10 different tribes are inhabiting the area.
